Many lessons may be drawn out from this Gospel event, but this time I would like to concentrate on a specific and very ungrateful topic. It is the judgment and condemnation associated with gossip, because they often go together.

First of all, every sin comes from pride. We judge and condemn first and foremost, and this must be clear to you, because by judging the other, we simply admit that he is better than us. Being proud, vain, with a high opinion of ourselves, according to which we must be first, and not seeing ourselves realistically that we are not, then we choose to judge and condemn the other. We condemn and judge the other because we envy him that he is in a better position, although we do not admit it. That is why we envy him and we are jealous of him.

Condemnation, and gossip is, I will say, the most vile passion. It is like a filth around which unclean insects gather, and then like a disease and contagion they spread it in all directions and infect the environment. We do this, first within ourselves, but most of the time we choose to be in company, because we are always looking for an accomplice in evil. In this way, we not only do ourselves evil and harm, but we also lead astray and harm the other, whom we involve in our lawlessness of gossiping, judging and condemning our neighbour. Not only do we destroy ourselves, but we also push others into hell, and what does the Gospel say about such people?

Од овој Евангелски настан може да извлечеме многу поуки, меѓутоа овој пат би сакал да се концентрираме на една специфична и многу неблагодарна тема. Тоа е судењето и осудувањето поврзано со озборувањето, затоа што тие најчесто одат заедно.

Најпрво, секој грев доаѓа од гордоста. Ние судиме и осудуваме пред се, а тоа да ви биде сигурно јасно, затоа што судејќи го другиот, ние едноставно признаваме дека тој е подобар од нас. Бидејќи горди, суетни, со високо мислење за самите себе, според кое ние мора да бидеме први, а не гледајќи се реално дека не сме, тогаш избираме да го судиме и осудуваме другиот. Го осудуваме и судиме другиот затоа што му завидуваме дека се наоѓа во некоја подобра позиција , иако тоа не го признаваме. Заради тоа и му завидуваме и љубомориме.

Осудувањето, озборувањето е, ќе речам, најгнасна страст. Таа е како една нечистотија околу која се собираат нечисти инсекти, и потоа како болест и зараза ја рашируваат на сите страни и ја инфицираат околината. Тоа го правиме, прво во самите себе, но најчесто избираме да е во друштво, затоа што секогаш во злото бараме соучесник. На тој начин, не само што себе си правиме зло и си наштетуваме, туку го соблазнуваме и му наштетуваме и на другиот, кој што го инволвираме во нашето беззаконие на озборување, судење и осудување на својот ближен. Не само што себе се погубуваме, но и другите ги туркаме во пеколот, а што се вели за таквите во Евангелието?

However, the mother, and, grandmother of this holy apostle were the complete opposite of his father. As devout Jewish women, both were holy and righteous, adorned with virtues, and were among the first to embrace the Christian faith. The name of the apostle Timothy means “honoured by God”, and he was indeed honoured by God to be a disciple of the holy apostle Paul, and later of the beloved disciple of Christ, the holy apostle and evangelist John the Theologian.

The holy apostle Timothy was born and raised in the city of Lycia, in the region of Lystra, Anatolia, in the 17^th year after Christ (17 AD). Arriving there, they performed a great miracle: with one word they healed a crippled man; he was born crippled from his mother’s womb. НАЈВЕРНИОТ СОТРУДНИК НА АПОСТОЛ ПАВЛЕ

Како што миризливата ружа израснува од трње, така и светиот апостол Тимотеј потекнувал од татко Грк, кој бил многу познат по идолoпоклоничкото зловерие и бил исклучително лош по нарав. Меѓутоа, мајката и бабата на овој свет aпостол биле сосема спротивни од татко му. Како побожни Еврејки, обете биле свети и праведни, украсени со добродетели и биле меѓу првите што ја примиле христијанската вера. Името на апостол Тимотеј значи „чествуван од Бога“, и тој навистина бил почестен од Бога да биде ученик на светиот апостол Павле, а подоцна и на возљубениот ученик Христов, светиот апостол и евангелист Јован Богослов.

Светиот апостол Тимотеј се родил и бил воспитан во градот Ликија, во областа Листра, Анадолија, во 17 година по Христос. Во тоа време, светиот апостол Павле, заедно со светиот апостол Варнава дошле во Листра. Пристигнувајќи таму, направиле големо чудо: со еден збор исцелиле сакат од утробата на својата мајка, при што луѓето се чуделе и се прашувале дали тие се луѓе или богови, па рекле: „Боговите слегнале при нас во образ човечки“ (Дела 14, 11).

The way of those who please God is strange, and when God wills, then He glorifies them. Everything is in accordance to the will of God, it is important that we follow Him, i.e. to cooperate, to participate in the great plan of God, and He will lead our life wherever He wants, or to be more precise, wherever it is necessary for our salvation and the salvation of others. Thus, with this newly revealed Saint of ours, the Venerable Joanikij from Rakotinci (Rakotinski), who was modest, peaceful, dedicated to his work, God did not leave him to be hidden from us, He made manifest to us his holy life for our instruction and betterment of our spiritual life in Christ.

The life of our Venerable Father Joanikij is so obscured, and at the same time so revealed. Until recently no one knew about this Holy Venerable Father, and no great detail was known, except some scarce personal data about his life-journey. Miraculously, by exposing his incorruptible relics on the surface of the earth, God made manifest this holy man to us and our interest in him grew. The ascetics do not desire glory, but God thinks of everyone, especially for us who are weak and not well-established in the faith, who need beacons and miracles in order to bring us, guide us and light up the path of God.
