If we put our mind into the process of healing, we are no longer part of this world – Metropolitan of Strumica, Nahum
~+~
“My time has not yet come, but your time is always convenient.” These words of Christ to His brothers are terrible, it is as if He has said that their deeds have no connection with eternity and that in any case, they do what they want anyway – those things that have no eternal meaning and purpose, and therefore no meaning before God. In fact, that they, as such, are part of the world and that the world neither hates nor persecutes them.
In contrast to this, everyone who fulfils the commandments of God is not part of the world, but witnesses to the world that the world does not live according to the commandments of God, i.e. that its deeds are evil; and therefore, such a one will be hated by the world.
These words of Christ also open the question of; How we, who are temporal and mortal, today, can enter eternity? The fact that we are members of the Church and that we sometimes partake in Its Holy Mysteries does not mean that we are not part of this world. But if we put our mind into the process of healing, through obedience to the spiritual father, in fulfilling the commandments of God, and if we direct the prayerful energy of our mind to the region of the heart, we are no longer part of this world.
And if we purify and open our heart for mind-and-heart prayer, that is, if we unite our created energy with the Divine uncreated energy in our heart, then we have passed from time into eternity, and from death into life, and we shall not come into judgment.
Our heart is the place where time meets eternity and the place where eternity pours out and transfigures time and the temporal things. A person with such a heart pays attention to the fulfilment of time – in everything he does, he pays attention to the salvation of all; that is his only concern and interest.
